In-house platform and freelance projects

I'm Luis Goés, a software engineer recently graduated in Software Engineering. My focus is backend development with Java and Spring Boot: APIs, data, integrations and the parts of a system that have to keep working when nobody is watching.

Most of my recent work is a management platform for a digital-marketing agency, in production since October 2026: a Spring Boot modular monolith with a GraphQL API, AI agents built with Spring AI, and an Angular frontend. I designed it, built it and keep it running.

I also take freelance projects — company websites and automation work. I use AI in two ways: inside products, as agents and retrieval that do real work, and in my own workflow, where coding agents implement plans that I write, approve and review.

How I work

  1. 01

    Boundaries first

Modules talk through explicit interfaces, and an architecture test fails the build when a boundary is crossed.

  2. 02

    Measure, then optimise

Performance work starts with a number. One dashboard query went from 45 s to 18 ms once I measured where the time went.

  3. 03

    Tests as a contract

Integration tests run against real PostgreSQL and Redis in containers, not mocks that agree with themselves.

  4. 04

AI with a human in charge

Agents act with the user's own permissions and ask before writing. In my workflow I own the plan and review every change.

What I'm looking for

Backend or full-stack roles where Java and Spring Boot are central, and freelance projects that need a solid backend, reliable integrations or AI features that do real work.
